Re where to go there is so much to see depending on what you like - If you are only there a few days its good value to get a hop on / hop off sightseeing bus as you will get around the sights. All the museums on the national Mall are free - I thought these were exceptional but Im 58 - The American Indian and air and space were my favourites and dinosaur display at national history superb. Thought Kramers bookshop was great for breakfast and a farmers market outside on a sunday morning https://www.kramers.com The war memorials on the national mall and Arlington cemetery are worth a look you see these on so many films and TV programs - again accessible from the tourist bus.

That's annoying that we are not on Saturday as there is only two PL games at same time so you probably would have been ok. if you need any restaurant or bar recs let me know. Unfortunately with the shut down a lot of the great museums will be shut. Also make sure you get the Metro to the game traffic is a nightmare around there on gameday and it's far, it's a bit of a walk but not too bad.

Some general city info that might help. DC has a large Ethiopian population and they have some fun restaurants if you want to try something different, a few favs. Ethiopic - H Street (amazing spot) Letena Q - Columbia heights (a bit out of the way) Nightlife U Street (awesome/lively area but keep your wits about you) H Street Adams Morgan (primarily 18th street), more the preppy college crowd but loads of bars and good late night pizza. Georgetown is really nice to walk around where the University is and if you want an old school joint in this area check out Martin's but I prefer Clydes! For higher end try La Dipolate is Steven Starr joint and very good, not sure on reservations this late (he owns a bunch of places on the East coast mainly in Philly). https://starr-restaurants.com/restaurants/le-diplomate/ Old Ebbits by the White House is an old DC American grill/tavern kind of place, excellent food (get the Maryland crab cake) and strong drinks. Much easier reservations as it's huge and you can't go wrong. Similar vibes to Clydes. https://www.ebbitt.com/ For the game, I recommend drinking in Eastern Market in the afternoon and then getting the Blue Line to Morgan Bvld (just follow the crowd), you are on the correct line then and only 5 stops away. Don't even think of UBERs after the game and the area is not the best around Landover away from the stadium, especially at night. I am flying later tonight and will be offline rest of the week but if you have any specific questions PM me in the next 4 hours and I will get back to you. [Post edited 6 Nov 19:22]
