| McKenna's goalkeeping dilemma 17:56 - Nov 8 with 2869 views | GlasgowBlue | Palmer was expected to return after the international break. Does he walk back in the team or do we stick with Walton. That wonder save aside, I think we are far more comfortable playing out from the back with Walton in goal. But I think Palmer is the better shot stopper. On balance, I'd stick with Walton. | |

| McKenna's goalkeeping dilemma on 07:58 - Nov 9 with 262 views | ArnieM | Personally, I prefer Palmer. I just wish Walton would catch the ball ( hes tall enough to be well above opponents on crosses) instead of punching it. It only ever lands at an opponents feet and then comes straight bavk in the box. But agree with another poster, neither are PL standard should we go up again. | |

| McKenna's goalkeeping dilemma on 00:03 - Nov 9 by JakeITFC | As opposed to Palmer who doesn’t even get close enough to it to flap. |
When Hladky was in goal both he and McKenna knew that his lack of height meant he couldn’t dominate his area so he never came for crosses, instead he left that to his defender which they did superbly, especially Burgess. Vas concentrated on shot stopping and passing out from the back. Which more than compensated for his inability to dominate the box. Walton has the height but can be hit and miss for crosses. At times excellent but at other he’s like a rabbit in the headlights. Of course we have a keeper on the books who is both dominant in the air and good with his feet. But his well published mistakes from last season has seen him sent on loan. | |
