Am at the game, so some half time thoughts

1: We are physically outmatched, pretty much all the goals have come from out defenders being bullied out the way.

2: That said, we aren't helping ourselves, playing a strang hybrid of a high press with the front 3, but then playing a mid block with everyone else, so our forwards are largely being bypassed.

3: Attacking wise we look pretty decent, and could have had 1 or 2.

Feels like the aim has to be to be in touch still in January and get some more physicality in defence.

4-0 down at halftime.

Seem to be shooting from anywhere and missing the target by miles. Bristol City have been clinical with their finishing.

How long ago were they in the WSL, seems a massive step up as we expected it would be

I always intend to watch part of their games but find that by the time I have switched on the game is over, and so don't bother watching anymore.

Huge game next weekend against Palace

7-0 defeat in the end.

Our relegation rivals Portsmouth were 2-1 down at Sunderland after 90 minutes and down to ten players. Portsmouth won 3-2! I read they signed a new player during the week to strengthen the side.

Getting beat every week and don’t even play in Ipswich. Seems a complete waste of time and money.

RE: not playing in Ipswich.

I'm of the understanding that Sheehan wanted to play in an EFL ground so that it'd be easier to attract the needed talent. I can't remember if F&W was still an option (league regs) but it was ultimately the manager that wanted to play in a stadium, hence Colchester.

All our WSL2 rivals we have been to so far have played in their home city stadiums (St Mary's, the Valley, Bramall Lane and Ashton Gate).

Looks like this level is a step too far for our girls sadly.
