That team should have been given a chance in the Premier but was gutted and benched. We got beaten by fast transition too often and gifting goals from mistakes. Look at numerous matches in PL. We now have almost a completely new team who should be faster, smarter and stronger but too often are ponderous in attack and still prone to mistakes. I agree with many that KMC needs to find his first 11 and his four subs at 65 minutes capable of change or adding energy. | | | | |
| Three years on... on 08:59 - Dec 3 with 139 views | homer_123 | I posted last night. We played (EDIT: in L1 and Champ first time) with belief and confidence - when you have that, you play with more intent and purpose, naturally more quickly and playing passes without thinking, as you know runners will be there etc. Personally, it's this that's missing, which is not surprising. We have been relegated from the Prem after a chastising season (although not as bad as some make out). I think that relegation would have happened if we had stuck with the team that got us up. Therefore, the situation we are in now would likely be the same. Players are short in confidence and belief. I suspect, as much as technically coaching the players, KM and the team are working on this aspect as much as anything but ultimately, winning matches builds that confidence and belief. Personally, I still don't think we are that far away from clicking and going on a run (although last night was a proper set back in terms of actual performance). You could tell from KM and the players that a late equaliser wasn't overshadowing a poor performance. Saturday will be interesting. I suspect many feel Cov will roll us over and there is a fair chance that might happen. But I have an inkling that it might be the turning point of the season for us. An open game and as good as Cov are going forward, they ship goals and allow chances. I don't know quite know why, as recent results and last night's performance suggest otherwise, but I can see us beating them. [Post edited 3 Dec 9:07]
