Is lack of pace one reason why we are struggling?
Admittedly, Davis has pace but I am not sure anyone else has. And when we last got promoted we had Burns, Hutchinson and Jackson who could all put on the burners. Clarke and Williams were also pretty speedy going forward from full back.
If nothing else, a speedy attacker can open up space for others even if they don't get the ball. [Post edited 3 Dec 9:47]

It's certainly a factor. We've got Philogene and Clarke who are both right footed, playing on the left, so more often than not will be cutting in. And on the right, we have similar regarding Egeli, and McAteer, who seems afraid to take his man on.
We no longer utilise the overlap, especially on the right, because Furlong isn't very attack-minded. |  |

Whilst it's less effective when people sit deep, you do still need runners breaking the lines
I'd like to see a speedster option upfront and on the wing ideally, Burns may bring that back but we need a bit more

In his Burnley Prem season O’Shea was in the top 6 fastest players in the league, so he’s no slouch.
This was from an article in Feb ‘24. Funnily enough Ogbene was 2nd on the list and Carragaher had just compared him to Henry!?
I’ve always wondered if we really need the left sided centre back to be the one with pace, to help cover Davis getting forwards. |  |
