The sales of Delap, Hutchison, Broadhead and Woolfenden 13:21 - Dec 14 with 1086 viewscbower

If reports are to be believed, we made circa £8 million profit on Delap, 15 on Hutchinson, potentially 7.5 on Broadhead and 4 million on Woolfenden. Rough maths, ca £35 million profit. Quite tidy methinks.
Then I think harder. Whilst I know these players were NOT signed in the wake of departures of the above quartet, we currently have about £20 million worth of relatively recent recruits in Ogbene, Muric and Al-Hamadi out on loan. Between those three they have less than 50 first team starts! In terms of balancing finances, that's a significant part of the 35 million profit doing naff all for ITFC.
Add to that the wages of Ben Johnson and Ashley Young who barely contribute and our £15 million centre half Greaves who is a bench warmer right now as we prefer a loanee we could buy for £4 million and that 'profit' is effectively squandered isn't it. And I haven't even mentioned the money spent on McAteer!

You can play this game in lots of different ways, but the value of our squad, on paper is higher. What we might actually get for any of them is a moot point, as it's more important what they bring to the club in terms of promotion and other income, rather than merely cashing in on them, surely?

Poll: How many points will we gain between now and January 1st?
