My wife has some weird account with Reassure and they have been nothing but a complete pain in the arse. So many hoops to jump through to withdraw money.

A friend of mine has had horrendous problems with a pension pay out which involved being given the money, being told it had to be paid back then having hell and all trouble getting it back again. Finally looks like they will get their payout 10 or 11 months after it was due.

That was with ..... reassure.

Some of these are down to regulatory bureaucracy, designed to deter foolish or fraudulent withdrawals. My SIPP went into flexible drawdown a few years ago & every time I want to take something out (including the 25% tax free) I have to answer a huge questionnaire, even though I started withdrawing money a few years ago. I have at least made a mental note not to try to withdraw money near the end of March, when financial services companies are usually very busy.
