I think we’re in for cracking 2nd half of the Championship 14:42 - Jan 2 with 1348 viewsunstableblue

Just watched the ITV highlights show (which I quite rate) and seeing some of the goals and moves, and player quality on display, at all levels of the league. And seeing how some teams (some with new managers) are finding form, and looking at the tightly packed table…

I think we’re in for a humdinger of a second half of the season.

Teams like Oxford, Charlton and Swansea will nick points. Oxford defended manfully yesterday and produced some excellent attacking moves.

Coventry and Boro have the players to refind form, and they may go large in January, but are now marked teams like us.

Then you have teams like Watford, Bristol, Wrexham, Sheffield United and dare I say it Norwich, finding form.

I just don’t think it’s easy to predict the top six, you’d think Coventry will have enough to stick in the top two. Really think they need to beat struggling Brum on Sunday.

I think we’re have some depth and quality and we are now gelling this new team. Some cracking moves yesterday, and what a free kick from Nunez. Unlike Boro and Cov we don’t yet have the home fans onboard (yes I know I’m a stuck record), but hopefully that may come.

We’ve just got to keep winning and believing in McKenna.

I wouldn’t fancy the play-offs this season?

My top six:

Cov
Ipswich
Boro
Watford
Sheffield U
Bristol

It’s all turned on its head. The form teams now are: Watford, Hull, us, Swansea, Norwich, Bristol.

So yes, I agree it’s going to be very difficult to predict what happens from here on. It’s very different to the last time we went up with a three horse race. Very few of the top sides have had staying power in recent previous season, bar us really. We’ve got the quality and experience of a recent promo, but also aren’t firing on all cylinders. It could be one of the most interesting and close finishes for a while.

I think the parachute clubs alongside us have really underperformed. Which has blown it wide open, and let Coventry and to some extent Boro in.

I think you need to add The Blades to that list - assume they still have some parachute? Or has that gone? They’ve got good players and the manager is proven. Think Bamford future is key.

Watford have always got good players, and if you get a tune, they could be up there.

Morsy may help Bristol and I’d expect they’ll bring more in. It’s a big city, that is due Premier League at some point.

Swansea new manager may settle them down, and again some decent players.

I fancy Wrexham to invest also. Moore, Broadhead and Windass is a bloody good front line.

Again, we’ve just got to keep our heads, continue to gel, and hopefully get PR rocking again. I do think fans are always warming to the new batch.. Azon for example.

Leicester fans, and to a lesser extent, Southampton fans seem to be very unhappy. Leicester in turmoil with money problems and - MAYBE SOMETIME IN THE NEXT FKING CENTURY THEYLL GET A POINTS DEDUCTION FOR THEIR BLATANT CHEATING - but their squad is still more than decent and maybe a new manage could get a tune out of them.

Saints’ new manage bounce wore off very quickly. Seen a few of their fans calling for the manager to be sacked and talking about organizing protests.

As a wise man (Ashton?) once said “stability is our superpower”. Now would be a very good time to rise above the chaos of others and climb back into the prem inferno.

Been an age coming. And they remain only 6 points off the play-offs and with good players. The right manager could get a tune out of them. As with Saints.

But as you state they just haven’t had the Town super power of manager stability… McKenna will get it right, and doing so may establish us in the Prem - and will then leave due to a big club feeling he’s ready.

He’ll have learnt so much over the last season and a half of adversity
