One thing is the owners will have a very very long list of managers interested in taking on the role.

Hopefully it's a long time away, but when you think of what the club has to offer it'll high up the list for a lot of managers.

I think the strength of the playing squad is probably the most attractive thing, relative to others at this level. As you say its a great job, hopefully one McKenna can enjoy for a while yet.

Ashton strikes me as the sort that would already have a shortlist of 3-4 in mind. That of course changes as managers take other opportunities but I’m convinced he knows generally who he wants next.
