I have been to a few away games over the years, my 40th birthday away at Peterborough was memorable (20/08/11), BUT i haven't been able to get to Portman Road in over 40 years...
So. My daughter bought me tickets to tomorrows game with the intention of driving me the 3.5 hours to get to the game....but now she can't.
So the wife said "lets make a weekend of it".
So we're staying over.
But She's not coming to the game, my granson is instead.
Soooooo
Can anyone tell me a good time to show up to get parking and where should we park?

Free, but if you don't mind a walk then I use Hadleigh Road Industrial estate, Dunlop Rd, turn in by the Earl Kitchener pub.
Much more convenient, but it'll cost you 25 sobs is pre-book parking in the used car lot in Portmans Walk, just off Sir Alf Way... barely a couple of moments walk from the ground.

Always get to Ipswich on Public Transport so can't advise on parking. But impressive effort from daughter, wife and grandchild to facilitate this. Enjoy the game. |  | | |

There's a lock-up garage in Great Blakenham previously owned by Lionel Stander, where the current owner charges £20 to park and provides a lift to and from the game. | |
