One that got away during the summer & would have been a very good deal for us at £20m as it has turned out. I do feel that he would have been an excellent foil for Matusiwa in midfield & that partnership would be capable of competing in the Premier League.
Given that he almost certainly won't be coming here, even if we do go back up, the reality is that this the kind of outlay that we will be looking at in the Summer for a PL quality partner for Matusiwa. Nunez & Cajuste both have quality, while Taylor has stepped up this season, but realistically, none of them would have the consistent ability & strength to give us what we will need in that key central midfield role. |  |
