A future in football with no heading? 14:31 - Jan 26 with 412 viewsFrimleyBlue

Just come across this story and I remembered they were looking at banning headers for youngsters football... did that ever come in?

But what could this do for the future of the game, could we see a time where football is changed where headers are banned?

My son's U9 team don't allow headers.

These rules came in in 2024. Could be that heading is banned completely at somepoint in the future.

U7-U11 (Foundation Phase):
Training: No heading allowed.
Matches: Deliberate heading is an offense, resulting in an indirect free-kick for the opposing team.
U12 & Older:
Training: Heading is gradually introduced as a low priority, focusing on technique with limited repetitions and lighter balls.
Matches: Headers are still rare, but rules for deliberate heading in games start phasing in at U12, U10, and U11 levels from 2024-2027 in England.

Pretty sure that story's got a heading mate.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I hope it isn't banned. Different times now with a much lighter ball that is basically plastic and non water absorbent.
