Roefs v Muric another big one, similar price but a great buy, young but confident and commanding, the fans seem to love him there.

I think if you do those 2 swaps we have a very good chance of staying up last year.
| Granit Xhaka - signing of the Premier League season on 16:18 - Jan 27 with 798 views | OldFart71 | Perhaps too much analysing has its own pitfalls. Up until recently I was betting on the horses. You look at the jockey who is riding it, it's form, it's weight and whether it's a course and distance winner and trainer form. Does it work out that you get the winner. No, in many cases not. Something you didn't consider at 33/1 with no discernable recent form and a jockey more suited to riding a donkey on Yarmouth beach wins the race. Also how do you know that the criteria you use is suitable for your needs. How do you know that player will be in the same form as with their previous club ? Answer is you don't. We have seen what has happened with Szmodics and Akpom both previously high scorers. No manager is ever going to get every loan, every purchase right. Sometimes that will slot in within a few games. Sometimes it takes half a season and sometimes they never fit in. Is it their fault. Sometimes yes, sometimes no, especially if you are asking them to do a totally different role. I worked in many jobs, from being a waiter to working in a weaving mill, from working in warehousing loading lorries to working on production lines. I think I found my right job when I was 40 years of age as an engineering storeman. Some jobs I was o.k. in, some I was poor and some I like to think I was very good at, | | | |
| Granit Xhaka - signing of the Premier League season on 17:21 - Jan 27 with 678 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | They got everything right as I thought they had before the season. They also pretty blew out of the water the notion that there was only a very small pool of players you can get as a promoted team. That was what I heard all last season. It was never about PL experience, it was about top flight European experience that would want to play in the what is considered the best league in the world with the most eyes on it. Maybe they had greater pull/contacts than us though but surely we do it very differently if we have a chance this summer. Need to be pretty ruthless. | |

They’ve certainly recruited heavily from abroad, particularly Europe - even when in the Championship. Seemed to be a strategy a lot of their fans complained about after they missed out on the playoffs the year we got promoted. Definitely paid off though, presumably taking longer for some players to find their feet in English football. I think they (and Leeds) have been somewhat fortuitous that it seems a weaker league this season with established teams like Forest, West Ham and even Bournemouth struggling somewhat (in addition to Wolves who were able to turn it round last season).

You can't really call them fortuitous, its not like they are one point above safety, they been going at toe for toe all season with the PL heavyweights, even if they have a much weaker second half of the season they've been incredible really.

Fortuitous? Our final points tally last season is already almost relegated this year. It’s not a weaker league. They’ve been competitive. Hopefully we do better second time round if we get back up.

We didn't have the network to reliably delve into the overseas market at that point. That's not to say we couldn't have done things better, but we were in a different situation to Sunderland. I am pleased that they and Leeds have shown promoted teams can stay up though.

Not sure Leeds are out of danger yet. West Ham seem to have found some form, and Dyche will fight to keep Forest there!
