Music to my ears from our new midfielder 09:17 - Jan 28 with 725 viewsunstableblue

“I’m a central midfielder who likes to get on the ball and tries to dictate games as much as I can.

“But I’ve also learnt over the years that the out-of-possession stuff is just as important, especially in this division. I’m vocal in terms of organising the team and those are probably my main qualities. I can’t wait to get started.”

Town have stuttered this season, McKenna has done a good job to bring some home consistency and keep us in the hunt. We have a chance. But the season hasn’t fired up yet, we’re steady but I think there is another gear to come, especially in central midfield, and up in the centre and right of attack.

We need a bit more fight and impetus now, really start blowing teams away. Like we saw in Coventry away. The fans still aren’t engaged and it’s a growing problem. They should be giving us that extra 10%, but they’re disconnected from the new set of players and project.

Neil’s words above are what we need, we need to be more vocal on the pitch and to be driven on by a player. Taylor has done pretty well, but lacks some consistency, Cajuste is not effective enough.

Let’s hope this is the turning point.

Nobody we play for the rest of this season is going to play like Coventry did.

Need to forget blowing teams away aside from the odd home game. That feeds into your point about fan engagement and expectations, wrongly imo, being that we should be blowing away all in front of us.

We just need to find some consistency away from home by hook or crook. And learn to start winning if we fall behind.

If we do that we have a good chance but we clearly also need a striker who can score 7-10 goal between now and end of season.

I think as opposed to blowing teams away it's about keeping control more consistently and not letting things get too open and frantic as it did at Sheff U. A lot of hope that he can help with that.

If he delivers on the leadership from the centre of the park then that could be just as important as his actual play. He was captain at Sunderland and it should be excellent support for oshea.

I am hoping he doesn’t he says he can do for us and we lots of him.
