| A Big Lump. 09:09 - Feb 1 with 185 views | OldFart71 | Why must any player, if we buy one for the No.9 position be a big lump. Yes I know that's supposed to be the way we play but if it's not working why carry on with the same old. Time to mix it up I feel. Whilst I know we are not Arsenal they have players like Jesus a "Fox in the box" player. Also we seem to be persisting in playing Egeli as a winger, when he clearly isn't. Is it really the case that he's too young to play alongside someone in the middle. He doesn't have to be a battering ram. For a long time we have played one up front as with Delap and now Hirst or Azon, but it's stuttering along and even with Delap who I suggest is far better than Hirst really struggled the second half of last season although the whole team did. | | | | |

If that puts the winger (or full back) in a good position to shoot then that is what they should do...and the number nine is still forward ready to pick up rebounds and occupying defenders who don't know if a pass is incoming. | |
