Except for a few obvious gems (Philogene, Palmer, Azor, Furlong, Nunez, etc) our recent transfer windows have been painful and downright puzzling!
To clarify, I’m talking about January 2025 purchases onwards…
I don’t wanna hear about some obscure summer in 1994 when the club was on its @rse.
Some members decided to take my previous post out of context and gave me absolute pelters. But I 100% stand by everything I said.
I’m not expecting ridiculous signings. I’m not expecting us to have it all our own way, but something just feels different regarding our transfer dealings since last year. |  | | |  |

When desperate for a striker signing Mehmeti and shifting Szmodics out on loan looks a pretty meagre window.
Neil looks another midfield body. Fair enough but not going to move the needle.
Given we are in the mix for autos but with some clear deficiencies, it looks a massive missed opportunity. |  |

a 19-year-old, and a 24-year-old, working with a coach who has a track record of developing and creating high output (Delap, Jaden, Omari...). Glad he is backing them and taking the pressure off so they can perform. Looking forward to them helping us achieve our goal for the season.

You don’t think spending £40m on 3 players who play the same position isn’t wasteful ? One of which has been cast out after looking ok in the prem, getting injured and playing games on his return.
One has been dropped after 18 games and one dropped/rotated for a guy who signed for £200k from Fleetwood and is so far better than all of them.
I can see potential with Macateer and Walle Egli, and I hope they come good but for over £30m in the championship and a return of 3 goal contributions that is the definition of wasteful spending.
The pressure won’t be leaving at those price tags, they have to step up , Walle Egli yes needs time, Macateer has played in the championship and premier league and is 24 should be more than ready to improve |  |

I’ve seen it said that if we don’t make the top 2 this season it must be seen as a failure.
Personally I quite like the Championship,if we did go up would we be more prepared this time round?

I don't believe we would be any more prepared than last time.
The way the club spoke we were going to buy different types of players big strong athletes I've not seen any of it yes Kipre is big. But midfield and up front we are as lightweight now as then. And I don't trust Ashton and McKenna to get it right in the summer. |  | | |
