Watching the goings on in the transfer window made me wonder about the signings we've nearly made before but not got over the line - interesting to see where they've ended up and whether we missed out or dodged a bullet:
Lennon Miller - looked decent playing for Motherwell, box to box midfielder. Chose Udinese, not a starter but coming off the bench a lot, only 19. Disappointed we missed out.
Marcel Ruiz - Linked with us last summer as a potential replacement for Sam Morsy. Rumor was he turned down Town to wait for a bigger club. Move never came, & still at Toluca playing regularly. Can only wonder if he'd have improved us.
Armando Broja - nearly signed him after getting promoted to the prem. Ended up at Everton after he failed a medical here. Bullet dodged as he spent most of the season injured.

Mateta - Failed his medical at AC Milan, missed last minute flight to Stansted so had to go with planned return via Gatwick where he found his car had been lumbered with an overstay fee at the car park, drove to Copdock only to find Tesco closed after midnight, couldn't persuade the wife to apply for a position at the hospital anyway... |  |

There was some young Argentinian fella once. No not that legend Treacle, this was another one called Batistuta or something like that. I wonder what happened to him and if he ever made a decent career for himself. |  |
