Stupid that the cost of a key for a Suzuki should be about £200 more than we had to pay for a replacement key for our Volvo (on the basis that premium marques usually demand premium prices for parts). |  |

Last summer I was taking the dog for a walk, which involves driving to the heath. Went for an hour long walk, got back to said car and lo and behold, the key had fallen out of my pocket. Managed to get picked up by the missus, and looked up how much a new key was. Not as bad as yours (a Skoda), but still about £270.
Then I had a bright idea. I printed off a sheet saying I'd lost a key, and offered a £50 reward if anyone could find it. Taped the note to a sign at the park entrance. Less than an hour later, got a call to say they'd found my key. The lovely lady didn't even want the reward (I think she took £20 in the end). Was pretty pleased with myself, an old fashioned way that worked really well. |  |
