I hate these players! 17:20 - Feb 16 with 2073 viewsdirtyboy

Please see my posts below.

I apologise profusely to those I have offended with such a horrifc sight of a page filled with nothing but words, no spaces, no alignment, no paragraphs, just words.

Due to technical issues, this post has been broken down into bite sized chunks.

Will probably suit the younger generation with their short attention spans too.

Now zoom out.

We are 4th.
We have a superior goal difference compared to the same point in our celebrated promotion season.

Our underlying numbers suggest underperformance, not structural collapse.
We are investing in infrastructure, we are financially stable we are competitive.

And yet the mood reads like relegation form in League One.

Criticism is fine. Debate is healthy. But internal fracture during a promotion push is self-defeating. The data on home advantage alone tells you that.

Supporters support. That word matters.

Alignment does not mean blind loyalty. It means directing frustration upward where appropriate and not sideways at players who didn’t choose their transfer fee. Don't push people down, lift them up.

We outperformed expectation spectacularly 23/24. We are slightly underperforming it now. The pendulum in football rarely stays at extremes.

The rational position isn’t blind optimism.

Remember, numbers don't lie and the the underlying indicators are strong. The league position is strong. The infrastructure trajectory is strong. The noise? That’s up to us. And in a sport decided by margins, noise genuinely matters. Bring the noise and be f*****g positive! We can't now change the squad. It's out of everyone's control, so it's absolutely a waste of time using any energy we have to pile in on the team when we're

I can understand the sentiment if not agree with it. At the start of of the 23/24 we were not exepected to challange. Many fans and pundits actually tipped us to go back down. We vastly exceeding expectations. This season despite being only 6 points below where we were two years ago we were expected to do a little better. By a very small margain we have as of now not reached what was expected of us. 23/24 was a headcase of a season not just for us but for the entire divison. At the bottom a lot of teams were still in danger of relegation with one game to go and Birmingham, the most likely of that group to survive went down. Klopp mentioned how mad it and thrilling it was and he had no vested interest. The standout stat for me was the gap in points between us in the second automatic place and Norwich in the lowset play off place was greater then the gap between Norwich and Birmingham who were relegated. This season it has been more of a traditional slog.
