I never imagined we'd see another player like Chaplin 07:41 - Mar 2 with 1280 viewsashtonscoffeecup

but i have very very quickly fallen in love with Anis Mehmeti for all the same reasons I did with CC.

I might be going crazy here, but he seems to have lost the ball a few times (Derby away, Swansea home) but battled and won it back instantly, resulting in a goal.

I wasn't vastly impressed with the Mehmeti who came to Portman Rd with Bristol City. But I did question at the time (as transfer rumours swirled) how much of that was the team he was playing in, rather than his outright potential.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Maybe, much like CC, KM knows how to get the best out of him.

Chaplin, whom I know we all love for obvious reasons, is hardly setting the world alight at Portsmouth, and may find himself at a Lg.1 club next year.

As I've said umpteen times here, something about KM that he seems to get career best out of his players. Muric a rare exception, but then he's a GK, maybe you can say the same for Akpom?

I thought that his first half performance was peak Chaplin +10%.

Not quite the same in the second half but perked up enough to assist for Hurst's goal, and almost a second.

Akpom just isn't an ipswich under KM player. He's a shadow striker which we just simply don't play with.

Utter madness signing really with an obligation to buy for a position we don't even play.

Shades of panic signing a journeyman who didn't quite fit I guess, bearing in mind we didn't have Nunez at that point either.

To be fair to Bristol City they've done a pretty good job of getting the best out of him themselves. He's scored 20 goals there over the past 1.5 seasons.

He's a very solid signing, proven at this level, fits our system and one where we knew what we were getting. Sometimes you need a bit of that and someone who has a good chance of hitting the ground running. For £3m its a very shrewd pick up. His attitude seems absolute spot on too.

That cant be right mate. He has been found out as a manager and is on thin ice.

Or something like that.

Interviewed well on Radio Suffolk. Sounded very driven and grounded and keen to learn whatever he can from McKenna.
