| What's happened to Suffolk post-match? 12:04 - Mar 7 with 797 views | Zx1988 | Tuned in the last couple of matchdays after a little time off - whatever has happened to the post-match programme? No callers any more, very few texts, and it feels a bit of a shadow of its former self. | |

| What's happened to Suffolk post-match? on 12:14 - Mar 7 with 729 views | SitfcB | It’s shocking compared to their Norfolk counterparts. They talk to Mick Mills, read a couple of texts out then go on to non-league, which tbh I’m not bothered about at all, hear the KM interview then go on about NL again and some national sports news. | |

And the other week they ran out of football to talk about, so moved on to other sports. I'm with you - I really don't need a full match report on Bury v Heybridge, or to hear the extended post-match thoughts of the Lowestoft Town manager. Granted the phone-in was always a bit naff and reactionary, but at least it was ITFC content.

I don’t mind hearing the scores but as you say the full reports are a bit much. Yes but it’s always a laugh with some of the callers

But then, playing devil's advocate, some of the younger reporters are actually quite decent, and probably deserve some airtime to help progress their careers.

I was going to say that obviously NL deserves a bit of exposure etc but could be saved for the last 5/10 mins of the show?

Yes, it certainly needs some more structure to it. How come the phone-in got binned anyway? Did someone call Mick Mills a 'boring old biddy'?

Seems a bit odd to criticise BBC Radio Suffolk for covering local Suffolk sports. Who else is going to? [Post edited 7 Mar 12:41]

They should give it a dedicated show then, I (like many others I imagine) when driving home from a game put RS on to hear views on the Ipswich. I don’t want detailed match reports from Leiston! If their serious about promoting that, give it its own thing.

It's a balance, isn't it? I agree that RS should be a vocal mouthpiece for local sport. However, the flagship ITFC show has gone from an hour of ITFC, to about 20-30mins followed by, bluntly, filler. I wonder if it's, in part, down to the emergence of The Blue Hour, and the need to save some content for that?

For sure. Obviously local radio has lost loads of funding lately so I'm not surprised the quality and quantity of content has declined.
