Well the contract was awarded to Serco in May last year. I can understand software updates, but given Trump and co made it clear what was going down weeks ago you’d have thought somebody might have looked up from their Sudoku and Latte and asked a question like ‘what if’ or ‘should we try and poke one little boat into life to show a bit of willing’, but nope. Nothing. Even the one minesweeper we had out there is back here refitting. I gather that talk of sending out HMS Scrapyard Awaits Prince of Wales is just political noise. It too needs software updates and is still riddled with mechanical problems so they won’t have to disturb anyone’s sleep on that one. |  | |  |
