| Is it my imagination.. 04:01 - Mar 23 with 764 views | Perublue | … the attempt no matter how “pathetic but vailid ” at hitting Diego Garcia has been very much in the news here and on other international channels but haven’t really heard anything much from the UK media. Or am I just missing the wrong bits of news I mean it’s been a good couple of days now and I’ve been ill. | |

| Is it my imagination.. on 08:39 - Mar 23 with 444 views | Guthrum | It made the headlines for a few hours. But the event actually happened some time before and hasn't been repeated. It was more an attempted propaganda spectacular than dangerous attack, missiles fired at the extreme limit of their range, with little chance of hitting the target, let alone anything vital. In any case, they may well have been prototypes, given one definitely failed and the other may have done (or been intercepted). A few people were puttering that it showed Iran has missiles which can hit London, but that is greatly overstating the capability. They might - two or three weeks ago - have had a couple of things capable of landing somewhere in or near south-east England/northern France*. Assuming they worked at all. * Accuracy degrades with range, unless you have a reliable termial guidance system, plus the aerodynamics and spare energy to maneuver. | |

I’m surprised I thought it could and would have been used as a political…… hand grenade . I think it was Saturday UK very early time and now it’s Monday morning rush hour and so quiet about it when outside the UK there was much made of it. Is it fingers in ears .. just one thing too much on top of the issues with that island…supression even ? I don’t know seems an odd one. Oh look there’s some ambulances on fire how are things being allowed to happen .. what a country .. seems to be just bending over .

It is possible some people are bigging it up to increase pressure upon the UK to get directly involved in the conflict. Whereas the UK media is well aware that the public is against such an entaglement. The Akrotiri incident was only given such prominence because it reignited discontent on Cyprus over the existence of UK bases.
