Back to 91/92 today… Barnet v Cambridge. 17:21 - Mar 28 with 451 viewsITFC_Forever

After completing the 92 last year, we had to do Oldham, Barnet and Everton.

We did Oldham at the start of the season and did Barnet today, leaving just Everton’s new ground.

It was a wind affcted game that didn’t make for much goalmouth action, but Barnet converted a corner not long after half-time to win 1-0.

Cambridge lacked quality and the only save Slicker had to make was one of his own doing… he handled the ball outside the side of the area and from the free-kick, he clawed out a viciously whipped in free kick.

Barnet currently play in the borough of Harrow, and are looking to move back to the Borough of Barnet, so we might need to do this one again relatively soon.

Their ground looks rubbish with that one empty end and the stand opposite the TV side being only about four rows deep. But sounds like it’s a temporary home?

The stand the tv cameras are in is a decent size, but is a metal fabrication, even all the steps the seats are attached to.

Very much gives the impression they’re not planning to be there for too long, which as they have eyes on moving back to the borough of Barnet (and possibly the old Underhill site), they might not be.

It was a training ground that they were only supposed to be using temporarily and I believe Wealdstone were lining up use of the site on completion of works.

The stadium was left half finished as the investment group went into administration and Wealdstone didn't have the funds for it to be completed.

Barnet purchased the freehold and have used it since.
