Hive mind question. Any recommendations near Ipswich for an off-road driving lesson location for a starter driver - i.e. learning how to move the car around, change gear etc the first things you want to be able to master before trying your skills on an actual road?

A large car park or open space, that would probably be deserted either early morning or late evening sounds ideal

Any super market car park on Easter Sunday. Still needs to be insured though.

Back in the day it used to be Martlesham Aerodrome, but I guess that doesn’t work now.

The Washbrook/Copdock stretch of the London Road used to be quiet yet offers an area where you can get comfortable with faster speeds. There are also plenty of places to practice turning into and out of side roads and even, if memory serves, a roundabout at one end. Things have probably changed since I was there...

(I missed that you wanted off-road. But maybe this is helpful in future.)
