In order to stay up this time around, there can be no room for sentiment. That means saying goodbye to all our players currently on loan to other clubs including Chappers, Szmods, H Clarke and Humphreys, not renewing the loans on Azon and Neil and loaning out or selling Akpom (if anyone will have him).
Also I keep seeing people mentioning ex players returning like Downes and Delap but my view is if they wanted to be here, they wouldn’t have left.
If we can get some good upgrades then loan out or sell Palmer, Townsend, Cajuste and Taylor.
Burns and Hirst are the tough ones for me. They might be good enough as squad players but not starters. We need a better RW and two good strikers.
Egeli will come good but not sure he’s ready for the PL yet so maybe look to loan him out to a good Championship side.
