Just had a quick look at it seemed to be doing a couple of slow laps, presumably just a test? Seriously iconic. Are they planning on doing a proper run?
Anyone watching the Bluebird K7? on 16:02 - May 11 by Swansea_Blue

They won't be doing speed record attempts that's for sure! I think they might get it up to 50-60mph for the wow value but that's very dependent on the conditions - aviation fuel is expensive, and it won't be cheap to keep all the required certifications up to date. But AFAIK it will be kept on display in a seaworthy condition at Coniston and hauled out on special occasions.
This is absolutely the sort of crazy patriotic British behaviour I can get behind: - build a seriously powered hydroplane - slap it on the water and test it - run the thing up and create a world speed record - have another go without refuelling thus destabilising the craft - have a fatal crash and become a legend - retrieve the smashed craft from the bottom of the lake - restore it and give it a spin around the lake for the glory of Britain
You are the obsolete SRN4 to my Fairey Rotodyne....
