Where does the fine "money" go?

If day, Soton are fined £ whatever, do we know where this ends up? Especially the millions fined in the PL.

When English Football League (EFL) clubs are fined by the EFL or the Football Association (FA), the money is typically re-invested into football-related good causes.

A quick Google suggests. Quite vague and I'm sure it's after costs and lawyers and paying the panel services. Clearly some good should come of it, which is nice, but you wonder whether something more helpful to the teams involved would be more appropriate.

All very hollow as any kind of punishment.
