Well it's more than we've done for 45 years! I'd take any type of success. Getting to and staying in the Premiership is what we're hoping for. Winning trophies of any kind would be amazing. Getting to a cup final of any kind is lightyears away, let alone qualifying for Europe, from where we're at. Trivialising Crystal Palace's recent FA cup and European success isn't a great look IMO.

That was a hard watch like St Mirren v Partick the other day.

We did win the Texaco Cup, so I suppose the analogy still works. That was also a completion for clubs that just failed to qualify for major European Cups. Palace have do well to be fair to them. I’d happily experience what they are at the moment. (But yes I agree, it’s still not a major European Trophy).

It was considered a bit of a joke tournament when it started and it only seems to be taken a bit more seriously now because English teams constantly win it. If it was being won by the 8th place finisher in la liga rather than palace I doubt anyone would think of it as a major cup It's not needed. It's just there to make more money for UEFA. A team finishing 7th or 8th in the premier league does not really deserve a place in Europe. Well done to palace for winning it but if there was now another European competition called the UEFA Conference North/South and the teams finishing 9th and 10th in the prem qualified would people think of that as a major European trophy too? Where does it end?
