With our current standing, shouldn't we be at least aiming at this level, rather than the completely uninspiring list we appear to have?

There's been no indication that he's in the running with the people that matter though. Glasner seems a bit beyond us - why would you leave Palace thinking that your stock is pretty high, aiming for a bigger job and come to us. Would be great if he did but surely unlikely?

No, I meant we should at least try to go for him. Not get at least get him. It's disappointing with how far we've come, that we are "tipped" to get someone from such an uninspiring list. We'll see who it turns out to be and hopefully we'll be pleasantly surprised.

On the other hand it's quite remarkable that we've gone from working our way through a list of Pauls with very questionable records, to managers that have finished 2nd in the premier league, kept Wolves and Bournemouth up when they were looking likely to go down and are currently managing the side that finished 8th in ligue 1 Glasner and Valverde have both left their clubs on a high with the hope of moving on to bigger roles. They're not going to come to a newly promoted side. I think we need to be realistic about our standing [Post edited 19 Jun 11:30]

| Oliver Glasner on 11:20 - Jun 19 with 311 views | Swansea_Blue | Isn’t Glasner another one that has felt he needs a break away from the game? Either of those, or someone at a similar level, would be phenomenal appointments. I think the only one mentioned so far would be Rodgers, but people are split on him because he can come across a bit smug and they wrongly dismiss his achievements at Celtic. You’re right that most of the current links aren’t particularly imaginative or inspiring. Hopefully that’s just because we’re keeping our cards close to our chest and people are just guessing. | |
