Profit from sales is recognised immediately. Profit may be far lower than any headline figure, as it will depend on the original contract length and any instalment plans agreed i.e. they may still have outstanding amounts due to the club the player was purchased from. | | | |

Imagine a few clubs might be keen to get a few out before 30th June though. Newcastle would get £5m pure profit for Pope which may be useful before then. | | | |
