If the human in control doesn’t bother to start the investigation process & review an incident be it a legitimate use of the technology, that’s why Salah’s burst in to the box & slight but still there incident didn’t lead to Argentina’s goal being disallowed.
It just adds another layer of potential human discretion & possible interpretation issues.

Just take it out & leave the goal line tech & that’ll do in my humble opinion.

Speaking of technology...what about that offside goal the other day when VAR declared that it was flicked on by an attacking player to his teammate in an offside position. Apparently there is a chip in the ball that is all sense and purposes a 'snickometre' like they have in cricket. Was anybody told about this?

I saw a clip of Salah trying to burst into the box and getting dispossessed before Argentina broke for their 3rd goal. Was it that one? That was a perfectly clean challenge on Salah. I’m surprised they didn’t look harder at the apparent pull on his teammate arriving in the box though. That looked dodgy in realtime.

I thought Salah just fell over and didn't appeal - I think they were more aggrieved over an earlier incident where they felt a player was held back and prevented from reaching a cross.

Not in the slow mo it clearly showed his foot getting contact & was discussed by the pundit panel as being similar to the Egypt disallowed goal, & yes the other foul top of screen at the same time.
