This 'no coaching during 'injuries'' rule 21:33 - Jul 10 with 551 viewsZx1988

Will it apply in the PL next season? Or is it just a World Cup thing?

No, the PL will still have two halves and not the four quarters at the World Cup.

So it's the trade-off for quarters, the no mid-quarter coaching rule?

Want to see it. Want also to see:
- one minute off the pitch if you call the physio on (that's the biggest improvement at this WC)
- five seconds max for a throw
- fast offside decisions
- cancelling wrong corners
- the "clear and obvious" VAR we saw in the group stage, not the more opinionated one we're seeing in the knockout (see Germany & Egypt exits)

Don't want to see quarters!
