Ray, who I have been privileged to meet on many occasions, is not the only Town player to have featured under both Alf Ramsey and Bobby Robson, as Bill Baxter did exactly that before his acrimonious departure.
Also, it was suggested that Ray is probably the only player from the Town title-winning side in 1962 who remains alive. Not so, since John Compton, Andy Nelson and Doug Moran are all still with us.
