Quite the fall for Johnson given he cost them £35m in January and McNeil is in the last 12 months of his contract.

I’m not sure they have. He looked lightweight and ineffectual when I saw him play for Palace. I’m not sure what’s gone wrong with him.

Maybe he’s got his dough in the bank and doing a Dele Alli/Kalvin Phillips. Maybe that’s harsh on Johnson, but he didn’t look all that to me.

Johnson did well in his first season at Spurs, but then seemed to go downhill along with the whole club. He seemed like a punt that failed at Palace & now he may be one of these PL journeymen who drifts from one mid ranking club to another, without ever really establishing himself, although still only 25. A sort of Andros Townsend light.
Was interesting how sniffy some were on here when it was suggested that Johnson could be a Town target.
