I have been meaning to write a piece on how bad football pundits are.
Its the ebor festival today. You watch that and you will see three or four experts talking about a race and they will know all of the horses last five races, what ground and trip they like, what kind of tracks they like. They are truly experts in their field and study their subject to the ultimate detail.
Now look back at the recent world cup and a spain match. During early spain matches we heard about how yamal was their only player and how good he was and mostly nothing about the team and how well they kept the ball. Now if you look back on all Spain's matches yamal was mostly giving the ball away and flattered to deceive. But fair play to him in the semi and final he did play well.
So my point is most pundits only watch each other and believe everything the comms say without forming their own opinions. Hence they all use the baseball saying and the us horse racing phrases.
