They make some fantastic runs off the ball and their passing is sooo crisp.
However, our back four is going to struggle defensively especially if we are so open in our play.
In defence of the back four...our midfield in the first 30 mins were about as disjointed as could be.
We were rabbits in headlights.
Throughout that first half Liverpool were finding so much space. Could have been another couple down easily.
Second half was better and we were in it, though Liverpool were really only playing on the break and we really never created any really good chances.
Not the end of the world but that 10 to 15 min spell coupled with the second half at Utd is sobering.

By this I mean we were battered second half at utd

They are buoyed by the Barcola purchase
Today was the day where we needed a 1st half of low block. Back 4. Both midfields sitting deep making a six at times. Maeda and Fatawu being really active squeezing the flanks defensively and closing down. And Enciso and Emmersonn as out balls where possible. Be dull as possible and give the watching nation the most boring 0–0 possible.
Unlikely we would have succeeded in stopping them scoring but you never know. But surprised we did not try after last Sunday. Feel we could have learned more about our capabilities to shut games down than what we learned from our more open approach (which is what we already know it is suicidal vs these super teams) |  | | |

I agree, that could have been one of our previous PL outings. At 2-0 so early I thought it was going to get really ugly like Man City last time. We look so much more threatening, but just as vulnerable.
Hull have mastered ugly football, I thought that was the kind of think GON would be bringing. Indeed a solid defence was Sunderland’s springboard last season. |  | | |

Right to mention how open the midfield was, our defence didn't realise stand a change, although I always worry about Greaves and the ball being played in behind him.
We really struggled to have any sustained possession really anywhere near their half, let alone in it, and when they got it back they were on a good attack with one or two passes almost every time. They were very very good.
Arsenal were the best team here last time for me, City and Newcastle obviously very good too but we helped them somewhat. Liverpool tonight might have topped all of them. |  |
