We are now treated to adverts telling us to save water, paid for no doubt from water bills. It’s about time the politicians ended this scandal.

As for the water butts? I’ve only three small ones which are now full. Happy days. The plants and other green stuff is looking much cheerier, though some of the shrubs in the Suffolk garden will be lost.
