I look at stuff like this and think 'what the hell just happened?' but, at the end of the day, they're bigger than us and, even if they're no longer flying the flag for us, it's probably a case of 'better the devil you know'.
One step out of time could end in disaster and, instead of making your mind up on how we could do better at Eurovision, we could end up as Putin's puppet on a string, back in the bad old days, left wondering 'why do I always get it wrong?, and having to beg steal or borrow some power from all our friends.
