What a bloody team and era -

often not talked about but that first season in prem we were good and very competitive...

The promotion team was great.

Although he had his injuries Micky Stockwell remains one of my favourite players to this day. Could play anywhere and would do anything for the club.

Up there with my favourite Town memories.

As others alluded to, it is all age dependent. I was too young to really appreciate the Sir Bobby era and his remarkable achievements. By the 1990s I could drive, you paid on the gate and prices were affordable. Even the opening years of the Premier League you could get tickets for most games, and at a price where I could fill a car with friends and we would drive down from Boston. How times have changed.

Jobs, starting a family and bl**dy Sky changing fixtures times and days ruined my 'live' football experience. As prices rose a season ticket wasn't an option like it was in the days of 3pm Saturdays. I managed to see plenty of the Burley years, another fantastic time, but since then I have moved up to Durham and no longer get to Portman Road.

Cambridge game was 17k, the biggest crowd for a few years and the away end was allegedly boosted by budgies as Norwich didn’t have a game that day.

Final game was a 28k sell out.

There was 20k for the Cambridge match. 20,598 to be precise.

I stand corrected…. Could have sworn it was 17k. Maybe that was the biggest attendance since 17k some time previously.

We never lost with Alf in charge until the cup replay at Anfield when he didn't come out after half time. Although we were losing at that point I've always been convinced that if Alf had done the full game we would have turned it around.
