Very cool although there are likely far more than what we currently recognise given the small size of some of these. It's actually very easy to spot the Galilean moons with a smallish (5 inch) telescope even with a lot of light pollution and good fun if you're a bore like me.

Circulated your post to our U3A Astronomy Group. Also been reported by Astronomy Now. It will be mentioned at our September meeting. Being just up the road from the old BAC Guided Weapons, we have two or three members who worked on Giotto.

I've seen the Galilean moons just with a large pair of binoculars, actually. Fun to see the arrangement change each time you look at it, almost like observing another little solar system of its own.
