I was in the old West Stand for that match and there was plenty of room (which made a change from the usual cramped situation in the North Stand, no idea why I went in there that day - perhaps my girlfriend of the time felt safer in the West Stand). A couple of Mancs were stood right behind and as the game went on I started to give them a glance over my shoulder every now and again with my cheering and shouts.
About halfway through the second half one of them taps me on the shoulder and I turn round a bit worried. He points to the floor of the terrace and smirks 'You've dropped your scarf'.

yes, this led to his leaving as he just wanted to get away from the area. Young lad, lost his best mate, distraught, grief stricken etc, wanted a fresh start. Robson understood and allowed him to leave. | | | |
