I was in the old West Stand for that match and there was plenty of room (which made a change from the usual cramped situation in the North Stand, no idea why I went in there that day - perhaps my girlfriend of the time felt safer in the West Stand). A couple of Mancs were stood right behind and as the game went on I started to give them a glance over my shoulder every now and again with my cheering and shouts. About halfway through the second half one of them taps me on the shoulder and I turn round a bit worried. He points to the floor of the terrace and smirks 'You've dropped your scarf'. I deserved that.

yes, this led to his leaving as he just wanted to get away from the area. Young lad, lost his best mate, distraught, grief stricken etc, wanted a fresh start. Robson understood and allowed him to leave.
