I think the issue was 3 of the 4 directly in front of him for the most part (Wilson, Earl, Donacien) look far from comfortable in possession and offer nothing by way of playing out of defence. It's either a short ball to them to pump long aimlessly, or do it himself. Same result either way. We either need a back line who are more comfortable to offer an out ball (Woolfy and KVY not playing doesn't help in that), or a physical presence up front, which we don't really have. Why we started our most technically inept crop of defenders and lightweight front line imaginable I will never know. |  |
