I'm trying to put a live link in a new post...the one where it appears in blue when I've written it
But it only comes as text, doesn't generate the YouTube box
What do I need to do to please

Hmmm...I 've got that....it does underline part of the address in wiggly red, same as you get with a spelling mistake
But the address is just a load of randomness, so it can't be a mistake?
Computer used to be able to do this....maybe something in Settings? | | | |

Probably just doesn't think the randomness is a word. If it's not underlining in blue, then it's not recognising the first bits which say it is a link.
If on another site/forum, that might not be set up to accept links at all. In which case viewers will have to copy and pase the URL into the browser themselves. Some forums don't allow links, to prevent dodginess (e.g. links to scam sites). | |

You get the padlock thing on most sites. Not sure it isn't part of the browser.
Might be a setting in your broser somewhere not displaying the link, but it may, in that case, still work for other people. Do other people's links highlight in blue for you? | |
