Could be good for them but can't say I'm bothered. Think he'll take time to get up to speed.

Looked like they played well against Hull without someone to put the ball in the net so could be good experienced head.

Wasn't one that excited me though and certainly it's a short term fix.

Not sure there was an awful lot in our interest, probably little more than a sounding out conversation. Think it was widely known he wanted to stay in the north.

Yes it always looked likely he'd go to Sunderland. We seemed to not mess about swiftly get Hawkins in which i liked. I guess Salary cap ruled us out also.

Sunderland seem to have got stuck in quite long a protracted negotiations over players whilst we seemed not to be interested in having long talks (which i quite like - decisive).

Hopefully helps towards a quick off the blocks start.
