Self isolation again 18:23 - Nov 2 with 694 viewsPendejo

Was out Saturday evening celebrating youngest offspring's 18th birthday when she received a phone call...

In Wednesday last week she was at a selection day for promotion to Head Cadet with Lewisham Volunteer Police Cadets (she's currently a deputy head cadet), the next day one of the sweatshirt I'll and on Saturday received a positive result in their covid test.

So for the second time in a month she's having to self isolate, just as her school returned after half term.

I get the feeling this school year is going to be punctuated by such things, her A Levels are going to be tough with these interruptions. She does have access to lessons via a portal but it's no replacement for in class learning.

"Boiled pork blood in chilli oil".

Yum.

That's the sort of thing I would expect Lucan to go for, but I'll have the duck please, although the pork knuckle would be fine.

I once took this lass to a real Chinese in London and the food was unrecognisable. As soon as she turned as green as the greasy tea, I knew it was time to leave.

We found a Western Chinese down the road and had food we recognised and she was happier.

Hopefully the family stay well and get sorted soon.

Surely it's not really any different to black pudding?

They have just phrased it differently.

Faced with a menu of nice looking food, I wouldn't order that either!

I do smile at how the Chinese disguise nothing though.

Authentic food descriptions tend to be just that: 'Fish eyeballs in clear soup'.

At least try to give it a name to make it sound a bit more appetizing.
