Afternoon all,

Thanks to swede for getting in touch with FIND, but it seems they would appreciate the money donated sooner rather than later as they are understandably extremely busy in the build up to Christmas.

I'll call them tomorrow afternoon to confirm, but think I'll probably close the appeal tomorrow evening as a week is a long time to wait before the next game.

If someone suggests another good cause (the SBR Foundation perhaps, as noggin said) that we could fundraise for in protest then I'm sure we'd all get behind that too. But as this is for local people at Christmas I want to ensure all your generosity is used to best effect in the short time left.

Also, as Blue_Order mentioned previously, FIND are also in need of carrier bags to help distribute the food parcels, so if any local Ipswichians could organise a collection that would be absolutely brilliant :) I have an address for the warehouse if anyone is keen to free up any space under the kitchen sink!

Once again, many thanks for all of your very generous donations. To have raised over two thousand pounds in less than a week is a tribute to you all. Big respect and much love :)

Cheers!

Thanks footers. Something to warm the cockles dear boy. It’s a fantastic effort and has also pretty much united the good folk of TWTD.
I’ll have a hunt around for some bags when I return home from my labours.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Over 2 grand is really good. Seriously well done everyone and to you and Swede for sorting it out.

I'll always speak up for Shelter because I know they are one of the few - if not the only[?] - organisation in the country that provide solicitors (and barristers) to represent people who are homeless in court who have wrongly had housing applications denied.

They are often the difference between someone, who has done nothing wrong, sleeping on the street or having their own home and being able to renew their lives again.

Really, if more people are homed and able to support themselves, the less organisations like FIND should need to exist.

Miss Slave follows this lot on faceache and thinks that seem to do a pretty good job.
