Tactics and a plan B and C 10:15 - Aug 22 with 859 views | portmanroadblue | With all the incomings behind the scenes, do we have a team of analysts for our opponents? Cheltenham/Morecombe/Burton 11 behind the ball and hard to break down, MK Dons more attacking and wanted a win, rather than playing for a draw. Yet we set up the same and see what happens, and then leave our changes too late for a plan B or C. Do we practice different formations? I would assume so, but maybe with a better insight into our opponents we should be switching formations to suit, also tactic wise, man mark a player if required, stick two players on a playmaker etc.

Tactics and a plan B and C on 10:54 - Aug 22 with 781 views | BloomBlue | To be fair with so many new players I think he's concentrating on getting plan A gelling before working on plan B or C. At the moment I think we're a good attacking team but when teams attack us we're not defending as a team. We have FB's high up the field attacking but when it breaks down nobody is filling in at FB which drags the CH's out towards the FB position. A good example was yesterday, you had Edwards and Coulsen causing loads of issues down the left overlapping etc but once MKD got the ball back they immediately targeted getting the ball into that LB position. However that covering will come as the players become more familiar with each other.
Tactics and a plan B and C on 13:38 - Aug 22 with 690 views | El_Fenix | I always try to assess the ability of a manager and his coaching staff to make effective adjustments at half-time, and to make impactful substitutions during the second half. I found Paul Lambert and his staff to be poor in both respects. In the ITFC games that I have watched on iFollow this season, opposing coaching staffs seem to have made some effective adjustments at half time, causing their players to experience a renewed sense of purpose and self-belief. I hope that we will get to the point where opponents become so demoralized during the first 45 minutes of play that the role of half-time adjustments becomes moot ...

AC Milan hoped that in the 2005 champions league final.

I don't think we've ceded control of any of the 4 games directly after half time, have we? Morecambe, we equalised after the break, looked like winning it, then self-destructed. Burton, we dominated the ball, penned them in for most of the 2nd half, missed a pen, missed a few presentable chances, then got caught on the break five minutes from time. Cheltenham, again, we've come out had the vast majority of the ball, unfortunately without hurting them, then they've scored with their first meaningful attack and then thrived off the momentum. MK Dons I thought if anything were wobbling worse before their equaliser than at any other point in the game. They always looked like they could pass nicely through midfield, but the 13 minutes after half time when was they looked most likely to crumble. Cheltenham were probably the only one I felt improved noticeably after half time and it was very much assisted by that goal against the run of play rather than any adjustments their manager had made.

We haven't ceded control - but in several cases we have been less dominant, have spent periods of time looking aimless and almost lackadaisical, and have not finished strongly. Although your match reports are more positive than mine, I am enjoying watching the football and observing the progress that is being made. It takes a while for a team to develop a personality that combines mental toughness with physical fitness, but I expect us to be where we need to be by mid-October . COYB!
