Is it Evans or is it "the consortium" or a combination of both?

I would have thought it was a pre-requistite of the takeover. If it's as advanced as they say, they have probably insisted to get it sorted ASAP to maximise an early exit from L1 this season.

I would like to think that is the case because if not it implies no takeover!

We can but hope the deal is done and its just waiting for approval by the FA fit and proper persons test, or something like that, and will be announced imminently. Deals like this take a long time to set up but all the sources reporting on it are saying its been on the cards for a long time already so hopefully its effectively done and dusted and Evans is doing what he's told.

My guess is Evans would have held on to Lambert until the takeover was announced but once Lambert threw him under the bus publicly he just wanted him out of there!
