My view on us getting smashed by Gillingham 16:26 - Mar 9 with 667 views | TieDyedIn95 | It was weirdly a good thing and a necessary evil that all the worse traits of this crop of players came through in one game, against exactly the sort of side that’s mugged us off both seasons we’ve been in the third division. It’s sink or swim time for some of these players. We’re generally all in agreement Paul Cook is a step up as a manager and a more progressive choice than Lambert. I think we pretty much agree that if these players cannot deliver under a good manager and coaches then they will probably never deliver for us. They have had two managers in Hurst and Lambert now who’ve taken the brunt of the blame for the failure on the pitch over the past 3 years. However now they really do have to step up if they want to be here and progress with a club that should be top 6 in the Championship minimum in stature, and in the top 11 of that league during an average or bad season. If they aren’t good enough for that we really don’t need them here, I am sure Cook knows that as he wants to progress his career also. It’s a great opportunity for some of these players to make that jump so it really is time to deliver on the potential we keep hearing about. If not they will have to continue their careers in the lower leagues elsewhere.

My view on us getting smashed by Gillingham on 17:00 - Mar 9 with 562 views | Wallingford_Boy | "Getting smashed" is not entirely accurate. Didn't we hit the woodwork twice and and at the point of equalising looked the more likely side to go on and win it? Then he changed half the team....

We were briefly in that game at 1-1. The rest of it we were bloody terrible.

We got well beat. We were pathetic. Against Gillingham. He changed half the team because we were so bad. And we continued to be bad.

Yes, well beat is more accurate. We were 1-1 when he changed half the team. You do the math.
